Oh how things have changed in the past couple of years!While discrimination and oppression are still not things of the past, a lot has changed. In the past year alone, many foreign and some local celebrities have admitted to the world about their homosexuality. Gay marriages and registered domestic partnership laws have been drafted and enforced in several countries.Is the Philippines ready for these changes? Or are we even there yet? It’s still a long stretch home, but there is hope for the Filipino Homosexual.
And in the upcoming elections, we could only hope for gay-friendly candidates for both houses of Congress.And the Gay Vote, no matter how people think of it as a minority, will still matter. Exercise your right to vote. Exercise your right to choose the people who will represent the sexual minority that the LGBT community is.
So please, vote wisely.
