Gay Male Couples and Biological Children

In some countries, it is no longer difficult for gay couples to get married. Many gay couples from different corners of the globe fly to countries such as Spain and Canada to get married. Here in the Philippines, a predominantly Catholic nation, that possibility of gay marriage is still a far cry (what with the pending passage of what could be the first law protecting the rights of GLBTs - HB 634 or the Anti-Discrimination Bill).
So let’s say you get married. You would want kids of your own, right? There are many options available for you. You can:
- Adopt a baby using arranged marriage licenses (e.g. gay man contracting an unsuspecting woman in need for a civil wedding)
- Have sex with a woman (excuse me while I puke;no offense meant ladies :))who’s willing to carry your child
- Steal a baby from the hospital
- Buy a doll from Toy Kingdom and raise him/her as your own (like PBB2 Housemate Gee-Ann) - and take the risk of being branded “weird”
- Hope a baby falls from heaven and into your arms
While these options may be viable (okay, not all of them are), there is an easier albeit expensive way. In Los Angeles, California, a fertility clinic is now offering what they claim as the first dedicated program catering to gay men wanting to become parents. Gay men who want their own biological children but are often attacked with prejudice and red tape, now have a better alternative. Fertility Institutes offers a variety of fertility services in their programs which include psychological, legal, medical, surrogates, donors, and patients services - all in one place.

If you’re really hell-bent on having a biological child and raise him/her with your partner, then this may be the best choice for you. That is, if you’re willing to shell out US $60,000.00.
