Gay-Oriented Children’s Show?

June 21st, 2007

Okay now this may not be real, but it’s one funny shiznit!

Let’s play with our twangers! It doesn’t matter what size your twanger is.  I’ve got a big red one!  Have you got your twangers out?

Let’s plock away!

I wonder how it would be like if Batibot did their own version of this. Oh wait, that long-gone Philippine TV kids show’s title is in itself hitting two birds with one stone.

TV Hottie: Dave Annable

June 20th, 2007

The moment you see this guy on the hit-series Brothers and Sisters, you’d definitely think you’ve seen him somewhere before. This formerly-unknown actor sure has a familiar face – thanks numerous TV commercials he has starred in (watch some of them after the jump). Remember that Bad Cheetah ad for Mountain Dew? If you’re not from the Philippines and you have seen the original ad, then you would notice that the cyclist who got the can out from the cheetah’s mouth is a hottie – yes, that’s him!

This 27-year old (turning 28 in Sept.15) Dave Annable began his career in TV commercials and later got roles in unsuccessful TV series, some of which did not even make it to a pilot airing. He eventually landed a lead role in the now-defunct Reunion television series. He got his biggest break when he was casted as one of the main cast members of ABC’s hit TV show, Brothers and Sisters. It is a bit interesting to note that this guy still got noticed in this series considering the fact that the show is composed of a stellar cast. How can one expect an ultimate nobody to rise above them all: Calista Flockhart (from Ally McBeal), Sally Field (uhm, too many items on her filmography), Matthew Rhys (Welsh Actor, Love and Other Disasters), Balthazar Getty (another hottie – Alias, Charmed), Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under)?

Thanks to a great script and storyline, where Dave plays an Afghanistan-veteran turned druggie turned renewed man turned… (erm, let’s not go there, spoilers!), Dave finally got noticed and was well-received by critics. He also appears first in the opening credits of Brothers and Sisters (arranged alphabetically).

Well, with great reviews, a great body and good looks, this guy is definitely a TV hottie. Oh and did we mention that he also did a commercial for Abercrombie and Fitch? Video after the jump.

Another Next Top Model

June 19th, 2007

After our controversial review on the unreal Philippines’ Next Top Model comes another one. This time though, we will be a lot nicer and won’t post anything negative about this ANTM online version. In fact, we’ll go low and promote it on this site.  No, we’re not talking about doing a review on the just-concluded America’s Next Top Model Cycle 8 (which, I think, will make its way to Philippine Television — free or cable — sometime in the year 2027.).  We are talking about another Next Top Model “franchise.”  Friends, Romans, countrymen, we bring you… » Read more: Another Next Top Model

Fag Hags and Fag Stags: Got Some?

June 17th, 2007

How many of your friends (like really close and not pretend-friends) are straight?  How many of them are straight men?  We’re pretty sure that you have at least one non-gay friend whom you’re close with.  These straight female and male friends are what most of us know as fag hags and fag stags (or as we’d like to call them here, Fab Hags and Fab Stags).

Well, looking at it from our own points of view, we would  surmise that we have a lot.  But how many of these friends actually consider us to be real friends? Some would say that they have at least 1 fab hag and at least one-half of a fab stag.  We don’t have actual numbers and research to prove that, but that’s what we would like to think.  In the US though, a recent research has found that more than 4 out of 10 Americans have gay or lesbian friends.

Happy Father’s Day: Gay Dads on GQ

June 17th, 2007

gqgaydads2.jpg

Single fathers, married fathers, gay married fathers, single gay fathers, gay couple fathers, single mothers — whoever you are and wherever you may be,

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

The image above comes from GQ’s June issue fashion spread titled “a GQ Guide to Being a 21st Centruy Dad.” This photo, which shows a real-life gay couple and their son, appeared without any explanation — just showing the world how gay men can be dads in this modern world.

This is good stuff. In GQ’s latest issue, they’ve done a spread called “a GQ Guide to Being a 21st Century Dad”, a sort of stylish guide to parenting for the modern man.

Oh, I can’t wait to be a dad… Err… I need a partner first.
