In this day and age, any term can be coined to refer to just about anything. Sexual orientation or preference is one of those things. You have gay, fag, bisexual, homo, homosexual, lesbian, dyke, and many other terms. Every now and then, a new term comes out of nowhere and quickly lodges itself onto the slang dictionaries.
An example would be the term trisexual. A trisexual (as the term is used by some people) is someone who tries anything once. Or try anything all the time. This makes us think that the term should be named TRYSEXUAL instead of trisexual (which connotes the number 3, ergo has sex with three different genders. But that is an altogether different discussion.
AMBISEXUAL! This is not the first time that we’ve heard the term and looking at it, we would concur that its prefix — ambi would mean good with both (say, ambidextrous). [start of edit after posting].Ambisexual is actually a real word which can be found in most dictionaries - mostly meaning bisexual:
ADJECTIVE: 1. Having a sexual orientation to persons of either sex; bisexual.
2. Suited to either sex; unisex:
However, over the years and thanks to language evolution and media, the term is now being used to refer to those who have ambiguous sexual orientations. Ah, there it is:
A person with sexually ambiguous characteristics that don’t define their gender. Guys who look like girls, girls who look like guys, and even someone with a name that can be used by both sexes.
Online news sources now also use the term to mean ambiguity instead of bisexuality. Take this for example:
His camp performances have sent gay pulses racing, but he refuses to be drawn, which led to speculation that he may be gay or bisexual, leading some commentators to coin descriptive phrases like ‘ambisexual’ …

So that’s what it is. If you look at the prefix closely, it can also come from the Cebuano term “ambot” which means “I don’t know.” Well, we just made that connection up so there really is no truth in claiming that ambisexual was coined by Filipinos.
Do we know of any ambisexuals? Of course we do (though not personally)! Ladies and gentlemen, meet our friend Mika! Yes, Mika is an ambisexual. He has been very adamant about not sharing to the world his sexual orientation:
“I never talk about anything to do with my sexuality. I just don’t think I need to. People ask me all the time. But I just don’t see the point.”(from contactmusic.com)
We love our ambisexual friend’s music and it’s really up to him if he wants to share his sexuality with the rest of the world. Gay, bisexual or ambisexual he may be, we will accept him for his music. (May ka-charotan na ganon diba?).
So if you wanna remain mysterious amongst your colleagues, classmates and friends, don’t tell them anything about your sexual orientation and wait for them to tag you as an “ambisexual.”

Isn’t “Ambisexual” the same thing as Androgynous… o, siguro…
Androgynous is a step up from Ambisexual?
Parang, Ambisexual looks like the opposite sex but you can tell it’s not, whereas Androgynous, you just don’t know at all?

I’m a trisexual. I’ll TRY anything at least once, LOL. I’m kidding. :p

The slogan under your blog title that says: “Bi now, Gay later” is offensive and utterly poor taste. It suggests that bisexuality is JUST a phase and NOT a valid sexual orientation. I just hope it’s not written by you.

–”So if you wanna remain mysterious amongst your colleagues, classmates and friends, don’t tell them anything about your sexual orientation and wait for them to tag you as an “ambisexual.”
–isn’t it that every man is ASSUMED as GAY, unless disproven otherwise? I read it here on your blog, that a friend of yours used to ask: “Why is everybody have to be gay to you?”
–”ambisexual” is NOT a TAG on it’s own, look at it closely: it’s under bisexuality.

about the tagline, I apologize for posting such a distasteful and offensive one. It was meant to refer to the countless gay men here who hide under the cloak of bisexuality - even if they’re really homosexuals. Even if that’s the case, I am very sorry that it has offended you. I have already deleted that from the list of possible taglines in this blog. It was an error in my judgement.
And about the term Ambisexual, yes, I looked up the definitions of ambisexual from various sources, and yes, I am aware that it means bisexual. If you noticed in this post, I have emphasized that language is evolving and the term Ambisexual is one of the words which have fallen “victim” of such evolution.

I think they’re different. Ambisexual refers to the sexual preference.
@fruityoaty
That’s the life! Fun diba?
@chase
For some people that is not possible. There are actual, real bisexuals out there (check out Pisanu’s BI.S.E.A.N. Blog. You’ll learn more about bisexuality there. It’s just a shame that many people here use the term bisexual loosely.

@ Chase…yes, you are right about “choice”. But isn’t it that chosing to be sexually attached to both men and women is IN FACT a choice?
If you would impose “have to chose” to true bisexuals, can we impose you to chose having sex with “fellow gays ONLY” or “straight” men?
Would you like to chose because others WANT you to? I bet you won’t.
