Spread the Love, Not the Virus
Stop HIV is a campaign run by local hotelier (motelier) Ian Angelo King. Mr. King is the founder and president of the Victoria Court HIV Awareness Organization.
At first glance, it does seem as if this is merely a marketing campaign of a local motel group, but if you look at it fairly, it isn’t. Besides, Victoria Court does not really need more ads does it? Mr. King was the proponent behind Victoria Court’s free condoms inside their rooms, but he felt that those efforts were not enough as usage turn-out was still low.
We have to admit that to many people here in the country, HIV and AIDS have become elephants in the room. We don’t talk about it. Why? Some are scared, some do not even want to consider the idea, some are just not informed about it. Heck, some people even think that HIV and AIDS are one and the same thing.
When do we know if we’re safe? Is using a condom enough? Is it safe you don’t swallow? How can you protct yourself? Where can you get tested? There are so many questions about HIV and AIDS that remain unanswered, even if we already have the answer right under our noses. (you can check out this site for more info: AIDS INFONet)
Here’s a video ad of Filipinos and Filipinas promoting the Stop HIV Campaign:
