It’s great to be young. And what better place to be in touch with our inner youth than the country’s premiere institution for secondary education - Philippine Science High School, known to many as Pisay.
The first run of the Bloggers Kapihan was held at Pisay and Bakla, who’s about to say goodbye to the 18 to 24 demographic, cartwheeled himself to Agham Road to attend this event. Organized by the Bloggers Kapihan Crew, this series of events aims to reach out to the general public to educate, influence and share insights on blogging. At the said run, Pisay students were treated not just with coffee, but learnings about the blogging world and the world in general.
We must say that these students for three of the country’s most influential (and must we say famous) bloggers - Bikoy, Manuel Quezon III, and Abe Olandres. We must applaud the organizers of the event for inviting such a powerhouse set of speakers. A healthy variaton of personal, political, and professional blogging was not only educating, it was entertaining as well. And as we have earlier expected, the session was not limited to just those topics. What stuck to our head after the whole shindig was MLQ3’s interesting opening statement about everything being political and how it all begins with sex. That doesn’t mean though that the only thing we are interested in is sex. It’s not like Bakla has a built-in alarm that sounds off whenever he hears the word sex or anything related to it, but that was one of the highlights of the event for him. Of course he learned a lot. And if you wanna learn those things too, then we suggest that you attend the next Bloggers Kapihan session.
Kudos to the BK Crew for a successful kick-off!
Bakla (and other members of the local blogging community also) graced the affair not only to learn from the best in the industry, meet other bloggers, and channel his inner youth. Charouth!
We also always look forward to after-parties og blogging events like these. It is during these parties that we get to meet other bloggers and talk about anything and everything under the sun (and sometimes for some people, including Bakla, with booze!). It’s a great way of “getting to know the person behind the blog” and sharing tips, secrets, and other non-bloggable and offline topics.
The unofficial after-party of the event was held at a restobar located at the nearby Ayala Mall, Triangle North of Makati (TriNOMA). We were in good company as there was a mix of different bloggers with different demographics and different blog niches and topics. We were lucky enough to have been in the presence of the Tinig Crew (Ederic Eder, Noel), Misteryosang Shari, Atheistang Benj, Tanggerang Poyt, fellow pink blogger Lalon, the ever-so-glowing Doc Tess, the interesting Jester, the Mutya ng Bicol Andrea (aka andiyan na si andianka), and the kids (Bakla calls them kids because he feels so old whenever he’s around them - college kids!) Billycoy (or his alagad, we couldn’t tell), Jhed, Jed, DanHellbound, Heneroso, Kevin of UtakGago and JM Tuazon (who got wet in the bus)!
At the event itself, we also chit-chatted with the Angelic Mom Noemi and Arbet.
