How HOT are Filipinas?

I’m gay but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the beauty of women. My sexuality also does not prevent me from being proud of other Filipinas. You see, I look at myself as part-Filipino, part-Filipina.

Many of our countrymen have made it big in the international scene. And I’d like to tip my hat off to them. This country may be in shambles right now, thanks to our so-called political leaders and their cohorts. However, However, these hot Filipinas are making up for it by making us all proud of their achievements making us allproud of being Filipinos and Filipinas!

So today, we are honoring the hottest Filipinas making it big in different fields in the international scene today.

Monique Lhuillier
The name doesn’t sound too Filipino, you might say. But her last name surely is a household brand - thanks to the numerous branches of Lhuillier pawnshops all over the country. Yes, she IS a Filipina! Monique (born Diane Monique Lhuillier) grew up in the Queen City of the South, Cebu. She attended the prestigious Chateau Mont Chiosi boarding school in Switzerland - where she started pursuing her dreams of becoming a designer. Years later, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.When she got engaged, she had a diffult time looking for her own gown. So she decided to begin sketching her own line of dresses. The rest as they say is history.Monique Lhuillier has dressed many Hollywood celebrities and big shots like Britney Spears, Christine Baugmartner (wife of Kevin Costner), Pink, Sarah Gore Lee (Al Gore’s daughter), Giuliana DePandi, and even Barbie! Monique now has her own Monique Lhuillier Bridal Dress Barbie .

Monique never denies that she’s a Filipina, and that makes her hot!

Nicole Scherzinger
This Pussycat Doll was born Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente Scherzinger (also known as Nicole Kea) on June 29, 1978). We all know the Pussycat Dolls and I’m sure we all are familiar with Nicole. What with the many billboards that she has all over the metro endorsing different products? Nicole’s father is Filipino and her mother is Hawaiian/Russian. It is interesting to note that like many of us here in the Philippines, this sexy singer was raised with a very strict Catholic upbringing. Nicole has just recently released her solo album and is ready to conquer the music world on her own. What will happen to Filipina representation in The Pussycat Dolls? Don’t fret, she’s still gonna be with the dolls, and here’s a bonus! another Filipina is in the group - Asia Nitollano. Asia emerged as the grand winner in the PCD’s search for the next doll! Pinay Power!

Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens rose to international fame when she played Gabriella Montez (opposite hottie Zac Efron) in Disney’s hit movie, High School Musical. This young Filipina was born on December 14, 1988 to Greg Hudgens and Filipina mom Gina Guangco. Like our other HOT FILIPINAS, this youngster does not deny that she is Filipina, in fact, she’s proud to be one and never fails to say that she is a Filipina.

She has recently made the rounds of online and print tabloids, thanks to a nude photo of herself which was taken a long time ago. However, being a strong woman and a strong Filipina that she is, Vanessa has taken care of the issue and is now back on track to becoming the big star that she deserves to be. A big Filipina star!

Christine “HappySlip” Gambito
Filipina Bride Christine, better known as Happy Slip, is a famous online celebrity. She posts videos online over at YouTube.com. As of this writing, Christine has more than 88,000 subscribers on her channel. She also is ranked as the 5th Most Subscribed member of all time and 4th Most Subscribed Director of all time. Christine’s videos are mostly comedy sketches doing impressions of her Filipino father, Filipina Mother, and other members of her family. Christine is proud of her heritage and she’s also proud to be Filipina!

Charice Pempengco
Filipina Bride This fifteen-year old may not have won ABS-CBN’s little Big Star but she has won the hearts of many Filipinos, Filipinas, and other citizens of the world when she guested on South Korea’s Star King. Her performance in the said show was uploaded onto YouTube and from then on, videos of her performances sprawled through different websites and blogs all over the world. She has wowed many Hollywood celebrity blogs and websites - some of which have said that she sings better than Jennifer Hudson and that other little girl Bianca Ryan.

She has gone to Sweden soon to record an album which will be released digitally (date of release still not available). She may be small but she has a big heart and she’s also proud that she is from the Philippines! A proud Filipina!

These Hot Filipinas, wherever they are in the world, sure do make us proud!
