I’m not gonna turn my back on cock!

Would you like to turn away from being gay? I don’t.
In recent years, in the United States, several groups and individuals have put up reorientation clinics for people who want to become straight. Whatever their reasons for turning their backs on cocks (well not literally turning your back as that would be fun!) are, I don’t know. I mean there’s nothing wrong with being straight, so there shouldn’t be anything wrong with being gay. Right? Right. Okay, well some of these gay men and women who want to become straight must have good reasons (i.e. family, acceptance, religion, inheritance). But in this day and age, specially in the US, I don’t think these are still great problems. I think it’s not really reorientation but more of repression of their sexuality. These reorientation “specialists” tell us that homosexuality is unnatural and it’s something you can put away. Put away like in the closet?
I don’t know about you but I think it’s a scam. Just hearing about their methods of reorientation makes me cringe in laughter. They mix anger management, hypnosis, and well, repression of feelings and emotions through various techniques. Hitting the bed with a tennis racket while screaming “Why did you do this to me?” or drinking gatorade and calling your friends “dude” sure will work eh?
Here is an excerpt from one of their hypnosis tapes:
“You have permission to change. You are changing. You are changing now. You enjoy a woman’s body in the nude… Having sex with a woman is wonderful for you! You are truly happy with your new sexuality. You enjoy having sex with a woman. Your past sexuality is a closed issue. It is over. It has served its purpose.”
They say effective, I say laughable and absolutely horrendous! I mean I don’t hate women, I just don’t wanna have sex with them. It’s like forcing Iran to abandon their manufacturing and testing of nuclear warfare (okay, poor analogy there!). Hmm, I just wonder what would happen if they accidentally gave a hypnosis cd for gay men to a lesbian and vice-versa?
Is it really about conversion or about repression or coercion?
Other methods and reparative therapy treatment options include exorcism, electro-shocking, and behavioral conditioning. Some groups even use religion as a front and as a “support group” for their movement.
When I started discovering that I fancied men, I wanted to get rid of that feeling. I felt like I was committing a big sin. I felt that it was a disease. But thanks to the great powers of cock information on the Internet and in my university’s library, I finally come to terms with the fact that I love cock.
Some people argue that being gay is a choice and that you can choose to be gay or not. And in my experience, it is not really a choice. The ultimate choice here is how you choose to live your life. It’s the lifestyle that we choose, not the orientation. We can be masculine, effeminate, cross-dress, bisexual, discreet, or out, but at the end of the day, will it matter?
I think what matters most is that we loved at all is the way we live our lives, the way we affect other people’s lives, and most importantly, the way we make ourselves happy, content and satisfied. It all goes back to having self-worth and believing that what’s important is that you know yourself and you’re happy with it.
