That carries a great responssibility on the part of the communicant. It means they have to be in the state of Grace. It means they are properly disposed and without mortal sin. TheCatholic Church doesn not reject same sex attractied people. It is their sexual ACTIVITY that is rejected just as is the sexual activity of the unmarried or the extra marital sexual activity of a married male and female couple.
