Wishlist Item 1: Rudy Project ImpactX

Posted by: AJ In: Wish Ko Lang ()

*This is part of a series of posts about the material things I want for Christmas. I have another list of things which are intangible and could not be bought by money, but that’s a different story altogether. The number one item on that list would be world peace, followed by a gift inspired by the movie Love Actually - a “you” for whom I can sing the song “All I want for Christmas is You.”

If you’re Santa, click here to find out where you can buy these for me. Lol!

I’m big on eyewear — be it sunglasses/shades or faux-prescription glasses. In my entire lifetime, I think I have bought close to a hundred pairs of shades and faux-glasses in my continued quest to look more than just presentable. However, I sometimes forget about functionality and sacrifice it for style.

Now, from that close to a hundred shades, I only have about seven or eight left (with 3 of them in danger of taking a trip to the dumpster) with me. Why? Because I’m such a klutz. I don’t really take good care of my eyewear for the simple reason that I didn’t care about the risks of having scratches on them or having them broken, or worse, lost. I never owned a pair of glasses that lasted with me for more than a year.

But why didn’t I care that much? It’s because I bought them at quite affordable prices. Besides, I never heard of any pair of shades that has unbreakable and completely scratch-proof lenses. Until ImpactX came.

I’m a big fan of things which are both functional and stylish. And sometimes, I’d be more than willing to invest in items which I know will last and fit those two descriptions. So when I heard about these shades with Rudy Project ImpactX lenses, which are guaranteed unbreakable for life, I knew I wanted a pair! You know when you go to stores and break something and they ask you to pay for it? At Rudy Project it’s different, if you break an ImpactX lens, they would probably pay you to do it again. That is if you can actually break the lens! Watch the video below of Ernie watching as I tried breaking the lenses with a hammer.

Surf enthusiasts like me (lol!), sporty folk, extreme adventurers, golfers, triathletes, and even those who just enjoy the action from the sidelines would definitely love eyewear with these ImpactX lenses. These lenses were originally developed for the US Military. And what does that entail? The lenses are bulletproof, transparent, lightweight and have passed all impact resistance standards. If the lens have withstood all those, I’m pretty sure they can withstand the chaos and the war going on inside my manpurse!

You might be thinking how these brusko-type lenses could be incorporated into something stylish? Well check these out (and I’m not talking about the models!):
