By now, many of you might already have seen how hot the boys from Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus are. We all have our favorites and, ehem, crushes from among them. I personally like Josef, Kevin, and Robi. The others are hot too but they’re just not my type. Then again, they’re still all very young (some even barely legal!) and I don’t really dig younger guys.

In a recent episode of the show (video here), it was revealed that one of the housemates was uncut. For many viewers (and probably some of the housemates), this comes as a shock since most Filipinos are cut. When Big Brother asked Alex why he was uncut, the young man replied that he didn’t know. Big Brother then volunteered the information by telling Alex that perhaps it is not “uso” in Italy. (Studies show that circumcision is indeed uncommon in Europe).

In this society, a boy who is supot (or pisot in Cebuano) becomes the butt of jokes among his peers. I’ve been there before - both as the butt of jokes, and the bully who makes the supot boys cry. Growing up, I had this notion that an uncut boy (or man) is not man enough nor will he grow up to be a real man.
However, over the years, I learned that that is not necessarily true. A man’s bird is not the be-all and end-all of his manhood. In a research conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2006, it showed that only 30% the world’s male population are circumcised. This is contrary to the common knowledge of many young Filipino boys, who think that most of the world’s men are cut. Or at least that was how it seemed to me as a young boy.
Male circumcision is the surgical removal of all or part of the foreskin of the penis. It is one of the oldest and most common surgical procedures worldwide, undertaken for religious, cultural, social or medical reasons. Male circumcision has now been assessed as a potential means to limit the spread of HIV. - World Health Organization
In the Philippines, the prevalence of male circumcision may be attributed to the dominance of the Catholic religion, but this is not necessarily completely true. Many men in other Catholic countries actually do not get cut. According to the WHO’s The Global Prevalence of Male Circumcision, the widespread practice of foreskin-cutting in the Philippines is non-religious.
Some people may not agree with me, but I daresay that we have been tolerating the bullying of young boys just because they are uncut. A supot boy suffers (and perhaps will continue to suffer as he grows up) the social stigma of not being a real man because of the choice he (or his parents) made about keeping all of his pototoy intact. I know that a circumcised penis has its benefits, but I will not stand for intentional hurt- and hate-mongering all because of an uncut dick.
I think this is a challenge for all the parents out there to educate their children that there is nothing wrong with being uncut. I am circumcised, but whenever I hear people making fun of uncut boys or men, I flare up easily. Ignorance should not be used as an excuse to pass judgment on uncircumcised men. I have slept with a handful of uncut men, and honestly, it doesn’t really have a substantial difference (in terms of sexual satisfaction) from a cut man.
Alex should not be made fun of because he is supot. He should not be forced to undergo surgery for social acceptance. He should do it on his own volition. And according to the PBB Multiply blog, he does, which is great! Apparently, his older brothers (I wonder how hot they are!) got circumcised in the Philippines when they were 18 (it’s situations like these that make me wish I took up medicine or nursing!)! Hotness galoreness!
With this development, it would be very likely that the PBB House will have its first-ever (if I’m not mistaken) surgery conducted inside the house! Here’s to hoping they would air it live and show the procedure on TV! Charotness!
I am not against circumcision. In fact, I am totally for it. What I am against is neonatal circumcision. I believe that circumcision should be a choice of the boy. He is going to be the one to use it after all.

i think circumcision here in the philippines is a cultural right of passage. it becomes a gauge of masculinity as it looks on how the boy would handle the “trauma” of getting he’s putotoy under the scalpel of a doctor (or, in more unfortunate circumstace, the bolo of an albularyo).

While this may be true, I believe it is now becoming an unfair rite of passage. There is an unfair advantage to boys who underwent neonatal circumcision. Boys who underwent circumcision as babies no longer have to go through this cultural rite of passage and therefore avoid being tagged as “not man enough” to survive circumcision.

actually, i’m yet to hear of anybody in this country who underwent neonatal circumcision. i don’t think it’s popular here; i even know of this popular belief that discourages neonatal circumcision saying “tutubo daw uli”. :))

i was circumcised as a neonate & i am filipino AND i was born in the philippines… One thing that should be pointed out is that the ‘circumcision’ that MOST pinoy boys have ISN’T really a circumcision…it’s a single cut (dorsal-slit) that allows the prepuce (foreskin) to move away from covering the glans penis (head)…actually NONE of the prepuce is removed…

medically, circumcision is indicated to boys or men with phimosis, that is when the foreskin cannot be retracted. retraction is important during sexual intercourse and cleaning of the head itself. if the foreskin cannot be retracted, cleaning of the dick head’s impossible therefore accumulation of smegma AKA “kupal” will develop which is unhygienic. accumulation of smelga may lead to bacterial and viral infections such as Papilloma virus which may lead to cancer.

I am not against circumcision. In fact, I am totally for it. What I am against is neonatal circumcision. I believe that circumcision should be a choice of the boy. He is going to be the one to use it after all.
i totally agree. pero sana meron ding counselling before the decision-making. parang pagpapa-sex change. para maeducate ung bagets bago sya gumawa ng choice. kai gaya ko, for one, at this point in my life kung papapiliin ako, i’d rather not get circumcized. naiinggit ako sa mga europeo dahil parang kakaibang sensation ang nararamdaman nila pag nakikipagtalik.

uncut men feel more sensation during intercourse because the nerve endings that end at the foreskin are intact. these nerve endings are more sensitive compared to other areas of the penis. if i had a choice, i’d rather be uncut. it was there for a purpose, why cut it off?

I’m a Filipina girl and I’m against circumcision. Circumcision is not considered a Filipino culture. Circumcision is norm and natural only to people who are narrow-minded, idiot, barbaric and discriminator. Filipino boys force to undergo circumcision due to peer presure. Peer pressure was invented by only Filipinos who are the most idiot in entire Earth. In fact, always 90% of boys ages 0-100 years old above, worldwide are uncircumcised, permanently. You are discriminating uncircumcised boys? I have no respect to all people who are circumcised and all pro-circumcision Filipinos!

Circumcision in the Philippines is a cultural rite with tribal origins. It’s pretty obvious that circumcision is an injury to the penis. And as such, the sexual experience is damaged. Only those who can’t face that reality defend it.

Btw, the HIV argument is inapplicable in men who have sex with men. Three studies to date have proved that whatever protective effect it may have does not apply to gay men or female partners of men who undergo the procedure.

While I agree with you in most of your points, I think it is unfair to say that you have no respect for all those who are circumcised Filipinos. For many of us, we did not have a choice with regards our foreskin being cut off. Some were cut after birth, and some were pressured by their parents and peers to get circumcised.

Ayaw talaga namin yang uri ng batas, baka iyan ang susi para tuliin ang nalalabing bilang ng hindi tuli na Muslim sa aming bansa. Para sa mga tuli, matatawag na “pornoaksi” ang mga “supot” na lalaking Muslim. Ang ibig sabihin ng “pornoaksi” ay yung hindi material na kalaswaan. Ang mga macho dancer ay maituturing na pornoaksi. Ang maituturing na pornoaksi ng mga kababayan kong tuli ay mga babaeng salat sa pananamit, mga taong manipis at kakaunti ang pananamit, tulad sa mga taga Ifugao at mga Igorot, mga inang nagpapasuso ng kanilang mga anak, mga babaeng nagsasayaw ng pakendeng-kendeng at pakembot-kembot, mga lalaking nagsasayaw ng hubo’t hubad tulad ng mga macho dancer at ang pinakamalalang tawaging pornoaksi ng mga tuli kong kababayan ay ang mga kabataang lalaki ng hubo’t hubad maligo sa ilog, dagat, irigasyon at sapa, na pinakakaraniwan yan at palatandaan ng Indonesia ang mga kabataang lalaking hubo’t hubad naliligo sa anyong tubig. Isa ako dyan sa mga lalaking hubo’t hubad naligo noong 5 hanggang 16 na taong gulang pa ako. Sa totoo lang, mas konserbatibo sa seks ang mga tuli kaysa hindi tuli.
Mga tuli na Indones lang ang galit, hindi galit lang sa mga hindi Muslim, kundi galit rin kahit kapwa Muslim, lalo na ang mga hindi tuli na Muslim, tulad ko. Sabi nila, malaswa daw ang mga tulad ko, pero hindi ako nawalan ng pag-asa, marami sa mga kababayan ko ang galit sa gagong tuli na iyon. ang mga tuli na iyon sa Indonesia ay mga miyembro ng F.P.I., F.B.R., P.K.S., P.P.P, M.U.I, at Jemaah Islamiya. Yung mga nangbobomba sa Bali lang ang tanging mga tuli sa Indonesia. kilala nyo si Al-Ghozi, Omar Patek at dulmatin, sila ang tanging mga tuli sa aming bansa. Tandaan nyo, tanging mga terorista at mahilig sa karahasan lang laban sa mga liberal sa seks na mga Indones ang tanging mga tuli sa Indonesia. Hindi pangkalusugang dahilan ang pagtutuli. Sa totoo lang, lahat ng mga kababayan ko na may HIV/AIDS ay puro mga tuli at lahat ng mga babaeng kababayan ko na may HIv/AIDS ay natalik ng mga tuli lamang.
Naawa ako sa mga kabataang Pinoy. Natuli sila kahit sino pa sila. Para kaming nakakita ng pinutol ang daliri, nilaslas ang tenga, hiniwa ang ilong, tinanggalan ng balat, hiniwa ang talukap ng mata at pinutol ang ari ng personal. Talagang nakakatakot ang pagtutuli. Mabuti na lang hindi ako Pilipino. Kaya nga hindi nakakapagtatakang halos lahat ng mga tao sa buong mundo ay galit sa tuli at yonng pabor sa tuli, tulad ng mga gagong Pinoy at Amerikano. Sa totoo lang, lahat ng mga lalaking tuli sa Pilipinas ay natuli hindi sa relihiyonng at pangkalusugang dahilan, hindi tulad ng mga tuli kong kababayan na natuli dahil sa relihiyong dahilan lang. Natuli ang lahat ng tuling Pinoy dahil sa kakitiran ng utak, tulad ng pang-asar sa mga lalaking hindi tuli na “supot”.
Hindi ako naniniwala na isang kultura ng mga Pinoy ang pagtutuli. ang pagtutuli ay karaniwan yan lang sa mga pinaka-ignorante na mamayan. ang tuli ay kultura talaga ng mga tanging pinaka-ignorante sa buong mundo. Naawa ako sa Pilipinas na pinaghaharian ng mga ignorante na mamamayan. 94% na mga lalaking Pinoy ay tuli ang siyang pinakamalinaw na 94% ng mga Pinoy ay pinaka-ignorante sa buong mundo. Dahil sila ay “supot”? Ipaliwanag nyo nga kung bakit masama maging “supot”? Eh ano kung “supot” ang isang lalaking Pinoy? Lahat tayong mga lalaki sa buong mundo at sa buong sandaigdigan ay pinanganak na “supot’ na iyan ang pinagdidirian nyo. Tandaan ninyo, tanging mga pinak-ignorante sa buong mundo ang mahilig mang-asar na “supot’ sa mga lalalking hindi tuli at yung mga ignorante at talo lang ang galit tawaging ’supot”. Mga pinaka-ignorante sa buong mundo lang ang naglikha ng salitang “supot” laban sa mga lalaking hindi tuli at higit sa lahat, mga pinaka-ignorante sa lahat lang ang pabor sa tuli.

Ako po ay isang lalaking hindi Muslim na Indo-malay na Indones, hindi balbunin at tubong Kalimantan Selatan (Timog Kalimatan). 16% ng kabuuan ng populasi ng Indonesia ang hindi Muslim na Indo-Malay, tulad ko, 6% lang ang mga Indones na may dugong banyaga, samantalang 78% ang mga Muslim na Indo-Malay. Lahat talaga ng mga lalaking hindi Muslim sa Indonesia ay hindi tuli kailanman at pinagmamalaki ko iyon dahil nagbibigay ng matinding kiliti sa aking ari at ngayon, 905 na ng lahat ng mga lalaking Indones ay hindi tuli, simula noong 1980 hanggang ngayon. Mas nasisiyahan ako na hindi ako tuli dahil mas kaakit-akit ang ari ko at mas maraming mga bakla at babae ang nagkagusto at nagkapantasya sa akin.
Mas hambugero ako kapag hindi tuli dahil hubo’t hubad na batang lalaki ako na naliligo sa ilog noong lima hanggang labing-anim na taong gulang. Hindi ko po alam noon na mga batang babae panay ang titig sa ari ko. Sabi nila dahil maganda ang ari ko, di tulad ng mga tuli na, parang ari ng matanda at naka-saplot o pantalon pa ng naligo kapag natuli na.
Talagang napatunayan ng mga kababayan ko na mas madalas naka hubo’t hubad at magpakita ng ari ang mga lalaking hindi tuli kaysa tuli. Mayroon akong kababayan na nagsabing limang taong gulang pa lamang, nakapantalon na naligoa ilog dahil natuli na siya at sabi pa niya, isang Pinoy mismo ang batang lalaki na iyon. May nagsabing noong hindi tuli ang mga batang lalaking Pinoy ay hubo’t hubad habang naligo at nang natuli na sila, nakapantalon o brip lang habang naligo. Isang taga-Malaysia na simula na natuli na ang batang lalakina nakita nya, nakapantalon na kada ligo.
Talagang walang binatbat ang mga tuli. Sabi ng mga tuli na “matapang kami”, pero natatawa ako. Sa totoo lang , mas mahiyain ang mga tuli kaysa hindi tuli dahil simulang natuli na ang mga batang iyon ay palaging nakapantalon bawat ligo nila sa ilog, samantalang ang mga hindi tuli ang palaging naka hubo’t hubad habang naligo at nasa ilog. Napatuayan niyo yan sa mga kababayan niyong Pinoy na batang lalaki. Sa totoo nga, halos puro hindi tuli na ari ang nakikita nyo kahit sa Pilipinas.
Ngayon, 24 taong gulang na ako, hubadero pa rin ako, pero hindi sa ilog, kundi sa tanggulan ng mga bakla. Isa akong macho ancer at ayoko maging konserbatibo tulad ng mga kababayan nyong naghahadlang sa pagplano ng pamilya, tulad ng kontraseptibo, dahil mapagkamalan akong Muslim, kaya nga ipinagmalaki ko na macho dancer talaga ako. Galing sa kultura namin ang macho dancer at nadala yan noong dumating ang mga kababayan ko bago ang pagdating ng relihiyong Islam at mga Kastila sa bansa nyo. Sa totoo nga, tanging napaka konserbatibong lalaki ang tuli kahit saang dako ng mundo at hindi nakakapagtatakang masyadong napakakonserbatibo nga sa seks ang mga Pinoy dahil 94% ng mga lalaking Pinoy sa buong Pilipinas ay tuli at ang pagiging tuli ang nakakapagkonserbatibo sa isang lalaki.
