REM lead vocalist Michael Stipe recently came out of the closet. Some of us were shocked, some of us weren’t. But here’s more shocking news! In a recent video posted on their YouTube channel, Stipe announced something on behalf of his bandmates Mike Mills and Peter Buck.

After Danny Noriega’s elimination from American Idol Season 7, the gay community may have lost a teeny bit of interest on the show. Who will reprizant yo? David Hernandez, whose image was scandalized because of photos of him working as a stripper for a gay club, was going to be the contest’s remaining gay icon. But sadly, he too was eliminated.
This brings us to the numerous discussions online that America may not be ready yet for a gay American Idol. Or are they really? Many of our gay friends have now turned their attention on this other boy in the contest – David Archuleta.
David is the current favorite to win the show, we all know that. And if he does, then many gay men, like I, will be very happy. This 17-yeard old boy has become a favorite because of his great vocal prowess and probably because even if he has had vocal chord paralysis, he still sings that well!
Online discussions and forums have been talking about David not only because of his singing prowess but also because of his perceived sexuality. Many people think that David Archuleta is gay, many don’t. And some people argue that David just appears to be gay because of his youth. We do not know if he’s gay or not, really. And it really does not matter.
So is he really? I cannot answer that question for you. Instead, I will give you some information that may help you answer this age-old idol-favorite question: Is David Archuleta Gay? (Decide after the jump.)
A what? A Penis Festival. Yes, there is such a thing as a Penis Festival and who better to have one than our Japanese neighbors. Kanamara Matsuri is an annual fertility festival held in Kawasaki, Japan. This Shinto festival revolves around one central theme, the penis.

This shrine used to be popular among prostitutes who wished to pray for protection against sexually-transmitted diseases. It is said that there are divine protections also in business prosperity and the clan’s prosperity, easy delivery, marriage, and married couple harmony, etc. Today, the festival is used to raise money for HIV research. There’s also a legend of a demon that hid inside a young girl and castrated two young men on their wedding nights before a blacksmith fashioned an iron phallus that was used to break the demon’s teeth, leading to the enshrinement of the item.

The age of digital queer/pink films has arrived. Well it already has and it’s getting stronger and more powerful as we are offered one good pink film after another. After Ang Lalake sa Parola, RoXXXanne, Ang Lihim ni Antonio, Daybreak and many more, comes another indie gay-oriented film.
Enter Hugot. (Uhm wasn’t that an oxymoron?).

Hugot is a three-episode film with a different man, a different story as the unifying theme. We see three different stories of three different men – all happening in one night. Or as the trailer says,”One night will change their lives forever.”
The first episode, “Raymond,” is a story about how a young man deals with the responsibility of raising money to pay for the hospitalization of his younger sibling who fell victim to a hit-and-run. In (kind of) an expected twist, Raymond and a friend find prey in Dorina, a transsexual beauconera (A beauconera = someone who always joins beauty contests. From beau + con = beaucon). The plan got out of hand and led to the eventual death of the old gay man. This episode seeks to answer the age-old question of justice. Does the end justify the means, or is it the other way around?
This is the first time that I will be posting something nude in this blog. It has always been my self-imposed policy that I will never post any photo or video that shows the complete human male form. No cocks here. It’s quite ironic though because one of my most-visited posts is that which showed the world’s largest cock, which does not show any REAL cock at all but a statue of a cock in China.

It’s just the beginning of March but I can already feel the heat of summer! I love summer!
What does summer mean? Hot men in speedos frolicking on the beautiful waters of Boracay! Okay, not really speedos, more like board shorts. I’m sure many of you have started your diets and work-out training programs just to get ready for this hot and sizzling season. Poor little skinny me won’t be joining you in that endeavor though because I know it will be an effort in futility for me.
I will instead just take the road that many others out there take – fashion. I’m vain but my body does not really cooperate with me in this particular department. I may eat kilos and kilos of rice and work out till my last bone breaks and last muscle tears, but I will never gain weight or develop a well-defined musculature. And since I have already accepted this fact, I have resorted to using fashion to make me stand out. At the beach, I know that I cannot wear my jackets, sweaters, longsleeves, and pa-fashion items. And that leaves the choices for me quite limited. I’m left with just the board shorts, the slippers, the headgear, and the beachbag to pump me up and make me stand out.
Most of my friends know that I try, as much as I can, to avoid wearing the same board shorts and clothes to two different occasions, events, or places where I know I will be photographed (mostly by myself). I made that one big mistake of wearing the same board shorts in two different places and two different times. I did that but I have learned my lesson and I learned it well. So now, I’ve become choosy with the things that I will be wearing to the beach. I know that for non-water-sports enthusiatsts like me, it’s all about style when choosing apparel to wear to the beach.
At one point in my life, I have become a self-proclaimed surfer dude, thanks to basic lessons from the good gentlemen of Onboard Philippines. More thanks though to the availability of a surf board in the same vicinity as that of a dSLR. I enjoyed surfing in Lanuza, Surigao last year but I got more excitement from the attention that my surfer dude photo got online (about 2 men said it was hot, or was it just one and the second person myself?).
I have previously written about the joys of surfing, but let me tell you that this counterculture is booming. My friends at work recently went on a surf trip to La Union. No thanks to my schedule, I wasn’t able to join them. But since I was a notch above the first-timers (owing to the fact that surfers of great caliber taught me – Paolo Soler and Lui Tortuya – among others), I gave out a lot of unsolicited advice.
The unsolicited advice though was more on the clothes and accessories that will make them stand out. Some were looking for good quality rash guards and board shorts.
