It’s the season for Hari ng Negros! The hottest men down south will vie for the crown of Hari ng Negros on June 28, 2008. For those of you who are not familiar with Hari ng Negros, it is a competition for males representing a town or city in either Occidental or Oriental Negros. Every year, contestants go through a rigorous screening process, familiarization tour of the island and training near an active volcano¹.

The Island of Negros in Central Philippines is rich in history, myths and legends. Most centered around the majestic and mystical Kanlaon Volcano. It is here where the legend of the Hari ng Negros the Ginoong Canlaon was born. This is not any ordinary pageant where trophies and cash prizes are awarded to the best contender but also a great responsibility and obligation is bestowed².

The first winner of this competition is our hot blog friend (who is also our crush, lolz) Emman Labirua.

This year, the competition seems like a tough one for the contestants. The online polls for Mr. Photogenic is now up (1 vote per IP address only) and without batting an eyelash, we have already chosen our favorites:

How great it would to watch the finals night in person. Then again, wala akong pamasahe at wala na rin akong leave credits! Lol!
