Bakla’s LazerXtreme Experience
Lazer what? Lazer Xtreme!
LazerXtreme is an exciting fantasy game that allows you to the sci-fi hero you’ve always wanted to be in the form of laser-powered guns and a battleground that looks like those you see in compter war games.
I’m not a big fan of sci-fi chuvaness, but I am a fan of competitive games. I don’t like shooting games and war games online, but I like them live. Paintball and stuff like that. And now, I think I’ve found the kind of “sporting activity” and game that suits me well — LazerXtreme. I’m not kidding. This is definitely something I want to do on a regular basis.

Girl, boy, bakla, tomboy — it does not matter what or who you are when you play the game. All you need is just the right amount of drive and passion for playing. LazerXtreme may be a hidden secret of some people, but not anymore! This new establishment opened just last May and is starting to get some buzz — thanks to word of mouth. And after playing a couple of games, I found out why many people are so into this.
We began with a briefing inside this X-Men/Star Wars-like room. We were given enough information for us to understand the rules of the game and the high-tech and high-end equipment used. After the briefing, we moved into the pack room where we put on our vests. Entering the room built more excitement for me whe I saw the Battlesuits and the lights attached to it. We donned our Battlesuits (complete with lights and Phaser Gun attached to the vest).

For the first game, we were divided into two teams. For the second, we were divided into three. The objective of the game is to score as many points as you can by shooting members of the opposing team and/or destroying their base. You score points when you hit the lights on an opponent’s battlesuit. The lights are located on the shoulders, the front, and the back. You also score points if you hit an opponent’s Phaser. If you really want to score big points, then aim for the opposing team’s base, shoot it multiple times until you hear the notice that the base has been destroyed. Oh and yes, you can actually see the laser beams coming out from your guns! When someone hits you, your gun and equipment gets deactivated for a few seconds. After which, you can start shooting again… unless another opponent hits you just when your gear activates.

Even if I am so competitive and even if I wanted to score high points, I opted to just hit opponents. It’s not fun to just stay at one corner and aim at the base. I wanted to get the feel of an actual battle so I ran around the whole arena, ducked and hid in some areas, climbed up the ramps, and shot as many opponents as I could.
The game lasts about 15 minutes, but you don’t feel like it is that short. It actually feels a lot longer while you’re inside the arena. After the game, you all head to the vest room to take off your Battlesuits and discuss the game that just concluded. You will then be escorted outside to the look at the scoreboard and get your scoresheets. The winners and the losers (per player and per team) are posted on the screen as well as on the scoresheets, which you can bring home for posterity’s sake.
After the game, you can opt to replenish burnt calories and used-up energy with food and drinks available onsite (their soft tacos are the best!).
LazerXtreme also offers different types of customizable packages for groups of friends, birthday parties, and corporate events. They have function rooms and in-house dining too. (I’m actually thinking of celebrating my birthday there). Their packages are very affordable and so worth it!
So if you’re searching for something to do on a weekend or a lazy weeknight, a different kind of birthday celebration, something different to do while you’re in the mall, or a team-building activity, then I highly suggest that you try out LazerXtreme!
(Thanks to Benj of Atheista.net for organizing the event. Had so much fun with these bloggers too: BJ, Lakwatsero, Teknostik, Baratillo Cubao, Fool45, A Bugged Life, Tanggera, Rebel Pixel, Fritzified, Bakla Ako and Jehzlau Concepts. And thanks to LazerXtreme for the very warm treatment and the great treat!)
