Project Runway Philippines

It’s the season for more fashion as the rainy season ushers in two new fashion reality series on TV!
The much-awaited Project Runway Philippines will start airing on ETC beginning July 30 (10:00 PM). The Philippine franchise of the Bravo Network’s Project Runway (which will be moving to Lifetime Network after the current season) will be the first show of its kind in the Philippines. We hope though that the show will not be a flop, like the not-so-talked-about Philippines’ Next Top Model.

Project Runway Philippines is produced by Unitel Productions and will be airing on ETC Entertainment Central on cable and on SBN 21 on free TV. The show is hosted by Teresa Herrera and will have Jojie Lloren as the mentor. Resident judges will be Apples Aberin-Sadwhani and Rajo Laurel.
(Since there will be another Philippine Fashion Week in October, I guess the top 3 designers will showcase their collections there too.)
So will this show find the country’s next big Filipino fashion designer? I guess we all will find out together!

Why is it that homosexuals always have to draw attention to their sexuality?
I don’t have a site that says, “I’m heterosexual … got a problem with that?” I don’t give a rat’s ass if anyone knows that I like screwing women.

Well, pardon AJ, Robinoz, for not being a well-represented, unmaligned majority like you are.
For as long as people have to actually flaunt being gay as a social statement rather than as a matter of fact, this blog’s name will always have merit.

Weeh! Im super excited! Im definitely expecting to see this as a cut-throat show, but then again I could be wrong.
It’s time to see the innovative minds of our local designer rookies.
As for Robinoz, the king of all humbled heteros, being an author of my own site badingako.com, our (LGBT –not only bloggers) purpose is not to shout to the world that we screw the same gender. How narrow-minded of you to think that way.
Kuya AJ’s site showcases the best of what the LGBT community has accomplished and are continuing to pursue. Also, he consistently wows everyone with his writing skills in infotainment.
Why be here in the first place if you have a problem with us to begin with?
BAKLA KAMI! MAY REKLAMO?

this could be a nice show, too bad it can’t be seen here in davao city… our cable provider doesn’t provide ETC (same as JackTV) anymore since Jan 1 2008…. argh!
i hope it won’t be a flop like PNTM…

PROMISING!
The show is interesting–though nagboborder sa “amateurish” and “indie” yung shots (lightings are sometimes irritating, minsan super bright or too dark), but it gave pinoy character sa show. Though technical limitation yun, but it works to its advantage naman nga coz naging “indie” yung dating ng mga shots. Noticed agad na UNITEL ang nag-produce.
Designers–very promising. Madaming magagaling. Given the time constraint and the interesting challenge (shortage/excess of materials), some were able to come up with polished and interesting pieces.
Mentor was ok. They should have given him a lot of exposure, especially during consultation moments. I’m looking forward for more of Sir Jojie Lloren insights.
Judges were ok as well. I agree that they were a bit “soft” in giving their comments. Hope they’ll be more fierce in the coming episodes. It’s just the first episode but they were all teary-eyed when Loida left. They need to be fierce!
Teresa Herrera as host is a revelation. Though you can’t help but see a semblance of Heidi Klum but she was able to carry herself well as host more so as judge. Better than Ruffa as Tyra’s copycat in PNTM.
Overall, it is a promising show. A good watch. It will be my new wednesday night t.v. habit.

AJ. Galing ha. Bilib ako. It’s like you “wrote” the show. You’re very skilled. Anyone who wasn’t able to watch last night’s ep could very well have “seen” it cause of your very concise, crisp summary in a succeeding post.
Allow me to correct you lang. Unitel did not produce the show. The producer is Solar Entertainment Corp who hired Unitel Productions to be its production arm.
Looking forward to re-watching the episodes through your posts!
Thanks!
Edel
