The Philippine Blog Awards 2008 gave recognition to the best and the brightest blogs in the Philippine Blogosphere and I am happy to say that I took part in it. When I was asked to host, I was initially hesitant since I knew my hosting skills were already kinda rusty. I eventually gave in and agreed to be one of the hosts for this year’s awards.
Not many people know about this, but I was also supposed to host last year’s awards night. But no thanks to some controversy and miscommunication, I did not get that chance. (I was also out of town then, enjoying the beauty of Dumaguete and Antulang – which I will also be visiting come November, thanks to Cebu Pacific’s Zero fare promo).
So on September 21, 2008, I had to brush up on my now long-forgotten hosting skills and headed to One Esplanade. Together with Kring of FunnySexy, Tiffany of the Manila Foodistas, and Marcelle (aka Kuya Germs) of Mistervader, I gladly hosted the Philippine Blog Awards 2008.
When the lights hit my eye, everything became a blur and I don’t have any memory of the event anymore! Talk about ebing lightstruck! Here’s a photoset (photos courtesy of Carlo and Ed).

All I remember now was that I had fun and some of the blogs I was rooting for won in their respective categories! Congratulations to Gibbs, Coy, Benj, Rick, and all the other winners (List of Philippine Blog Awards Winners after the jump)!
I’m also happy that even if this blog didn’t win in the Best Personal Blog category, I was among great bloggers like Fritz, Helga, Kring, Benj (who won that category), Bikoy, Mike Villar, and Misterhubs, among others.Just getting nominated with this bunch is an honor in itself! Imagine, from the more than 90 blogs that qualified, we were among the finalists! Good job naman diyan!
I had a small taste of victory too, as “We Love Trinoma” (the video spoof that Coy, Kring, Poyt, Joe, and I made a couple of months back), won in the Best Single Post for Videocast/Podcast. Congrats sa amin! Lol.
I also had a blog entry which became a finalist in the Best Single Post Category for Food  the controversial Bakla and his Cabalen Trinoma Experience.
I’m also proud to be part of the FabCasters (The podcast starring bloggers Migs the Manila Gay Guy, Joel McVie, Gibbs Cadiz, Lobster Tony, and Corporate Closet) which was nominated in the Best Videocast/Podcast Category via Joel McVie’s Blog (there’s a post-PBA podcast here too).
Overexposed is what I should tag myself as, since I had a bit of an overexposure at the awards. Aside from being one of the hosts, I was also part of the documentation committee. And how did I become overexposed? Well, let’s just say that some of the introduction videos to the categories (right before the extravagantly beautiful nominee list videos by Fritz), had too much of my kabaklaan!
I may not have won, but I still feel like a winner! See you next year at the Philippine Blog Awards 2009!
