Gay men need to find a gay doctor or a gay friendly health care provider. Your clinician needs to have some insight into how gay men live and function. You shouldn’t feel embarrassed to talk to your doctor.
Your health care provider should be objective and aware of all the different facets of your life. Coming out to your doctor should not be burdened by shame, and if your doctor is not comfortable with treating homosexuals, then you should find yourself a new doctor.
Some people argue that their sexuality is something that they feel they do not need to disclose to their doctor, but this is nonsense. Your sexuality and your lifestyle are important contributing factors to your health. It is vital that your doctor understands everything there is to know about you. - Dr. Frank Spinelli in an interview with Gay Sports
Dr. Frank Spinelli is the author of the book The Advocate: Guide to Gay Men’s Health and Wellness. He is a Board Certified Internist and has been a practicing physician for more than seven years with specializations in primary care, HIV, and prevention. He has serves as Clinical Director of HIV Services at the Carbini Medical Center.

Inject Me!
Dr. Spinelli, or Frank as I’d like to call him (feeling close), loves to speak about gay heakth issues and HIV prevention. He has subjects like HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and other gay health preventative issues.

This doctor is a celebrity in his own right with writing contributions for several gay publications including, The Blade, Genre, HX, and Instinct Magazine. MTV’s Logo Network considers him as their “Go To Doctor” and he has also appeared on MTV News, ABC News and the Today Show. And he has earned the titles Real McDreamy and Real McSteamy — in reference to those hot doctors on Grey’s Anatomy played by Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane, respectively.

Oh and yeah, HE IS SINGLE! Well at least that’s what his MySpace account says. He kinda looks like Freddie Prinze Jr. Don’t you think?
Wouldn’t you want your doctor to be as hot as Dr. Spinelli? If there are gay doctors here in the Philippines as hot as Frank, then many of us could well be on our way to health and wellness. If he comes here and give us talks on sexually transmitted diseases and infections, and HIV, then many of us will definitely learn a lot!
And yes, I’d like to marry him someday.
