Welcome 2009 and welcome to a brand new year of kabaklaan here on “Bakla Ako, May Reklamo?”!

2008 was such a great year for the blog and we hope 2009 will be an equally good if not better year.

So let’s do a quick recap of what happened in 2008. Here are some highlights:

Early in the year, I launched the “Are You ‘A’ Gay?” video blog series, which turned out to be just a few episodes.  I will no longer promise to start a new series nor to continue the series, I will just post whenever I feel like it.  Besides, no one really watched the videos. Haha.  It was also in January when I got gaybar-devirginized as I, along with some friends, visited not one, not two, but three gay bars in Manila! And who can forget the Cabalen Trinoma incident?  I was one of the few people who got the chance to meet the infamous Anne from Cabalen! What an honor!

In February, I got to visit Batanes courtesy of Epson Philippines!  And I won a printer by winning  (I was first runner-up) the Epson in Batanes photo contest! I also got the chance to meet Christine Gambito aka HappySlip.  Thanks to the people of Yehey!, I was able to go up onstage and ask HappySlip a question face to face! Not satisfied with that kind of mileage, I also got the chance to be interviewed on video by Janette Toral for the Digital Filipino Club.  It was also during this month that I had the honor of meeting Danton Remoto as we, the FabCasters, recorded a very enlightening, educational, and fun podcast with him. UPDATE: VOTING HAS BEEN CANCELED TODAY, APRIL 16, 2008 DUE TO A TEEN HOUSEMATE’S VOLUNTARY EXIT.

It’s that time of the season again! In our tradition of Save the Hottie, Save the World campaigns on the Pinoy Big Brother show on ABS-CBN, we are once again calling on everyone to save another hottie. At one point or another, we have saved Kian Kazemi, Victor Basa, Jon Mullaly aka Jon Avila, and Will Devaughn.

The second set of nominees for the ongoing season, Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, includes hot boy Kevin Garcia Flood — the Spanish Stallion. It is the first time in the history of the Philippine franchise of Endemol’s Big Brother series that a housemate was nominated with 16 votes!

A four-second video of a guy jerking off is currently doing the rounds of emails, blogs, and MMS. Some allege that the guy wanking in the video is model-turned-PBB-Housemate-turned-actor-slash-model Victor Basa. Some claim that this is the newest scandal that has hit this young star rumored to be gay.

The video is showing a muscular (and really hot) guy sans clothing, right knee raised a little close to the camera, right hand playing with his member, against a backdrop of a wooden closet and an indoor plant.

I don’t normally respond to blog memes here on bakla ako dot com as I reserve those kinds of posts for my personal blog. But since I’m currently under the influence of the UP @ 100 spirit, I might as well respond to this meme challenge from Juned.

I have answered this survey several times but I think most of my answers have changed over the years, thanks to newfound wisdom that comes with aging. In short, habang tumatanda, ah eh… yun lang. Habang tumatanda…

1. Student number?

98-05599. Oo, kahit nasa malayong UP Mindanao ako, sa zero nagsisimula ang aking student number. Ang dahilan ay sa Diliman ako nagsubmit ng application. As in pumila ako sa may registrar’s office. Ganun ako ka die-hard maging UP student.

2. College?

College of Science and Mathematics (CSM)
Nakapasa ako sa first choice ko na campus at kurso: UP Mindanao at BS Applied Mathematics. Oo, first choice ko ang Mindanao dahil nung panahong akoy mag UPCAT ay bagong bago pa lang ang UP sa Mindanao. Ninais kong maging kasapi sa mga pioneer. Kaya masaya ako dahil naroon ako at nakita ko ang simulain ng isang kampus. Minamaliit ng karamihan ang UP Mindanao, pero alam kong hindi kami patatalo sa kung anumang labanan.

At oo rin, BS Applied Mathematics ang first choice ko na kurso kase nung grade school and high school, naturingan akong dalubhasa sa larangan ng matematika. Pero napuno rin ako sa math at ninais kong i-explore ang aking creative side kaya nag-shift ako nung nalaman kong i-ooffer ang Communication Arts sa pangalawang taon ko sa unibersidad.

College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS)
Kaya nung nalaman kong pwedeng mag-shift to Comm Arts ay nag-shift ako. Third year na ako nun, at ang kundisyon ay willing akong magtapos ng late kase hindi sila mag-ooffer ng advanced courses para sa mga upperclass na shifters.

3. Ano ang course mo?

See above. BS Applied Math tapos BA Communcation Arts major in Speech Communication and minor in Orgs.4. Nag-shift ka ba o na-kickout?

*Baklang AJ will be out of town this weekend and may have limited access to the online world. As much as he wants to attend the Pride March, he has already committed to this trip a long time ago. He will not be able to surf the Internet but he will definitely surf the waves in Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.

Oh no! I haven’t been this confused in ages! Not since I was playing around with toys and the idea of man to man sex! I think the only people more confused than I am right now are those who continue to pretend and fool themselves and others by stating on their guys4men, fridae, gaydar or gay.com profiles that they are confused! Confused Confused!

My personal weekend was great. But with great things come great disappointments. I missed out on Victor Basa’s eviction from the PBB house as well as the nomination night wherein two of our Magic Hotties inside Kuya’s yellow house where eliminated! Gadangit! This is the reason for my confusion! The nomination of Jon Avila/Mullaly (please Star Magic, DITCH AVILA and RETAIN MULLALY!) and Will Devaughn! Now whom should I spend my hard-earned money for? Whose name will appear on my Globe bill (wish ko lang that were possible)? Jon or Will? Jon or Will?

I IMPLORE ALL OF YOU TO PLEASE VOTE FOR BOTH! OR IF YOU’RE VOTING FOR ONE, PLEASE VOTE FOR WILL DEVAUGHN… AND JON MULLALY!

We failed to save the world by not saving Victor Basa! That campaign failed MISERABLY! This is it! This is the time when we ask for your help and support to save Victor Basa from getting booted out of the Pinoy Big Brother House in the Celebrity Edition 2 season.
