WIN ERASERHEADS (The Second Set) REUNION CONCERT TICKETS!

March 3rd, 2009

The Eraserheads Reunion Concert last year ended unexpectedly right after the first set. Due to unforeseen and sad circumstances, the show was cut off leaving all fans (myself included) sad, frustrated and disappointed.

Until recently, when we all found out that the supposed second set of the reunion concert is actually going to happen! Yes, the Eraserheads Reunion Concert’s SECOND SET will push through. The event will take place on March 7 at the SM Mall of Asia.

Like many of my friends (in real life and on Facebook and Friendster and everywhere!), I am so excited to watch this. Problem is, I don’t have tickets yet. And just as I thought there was no way I could acquire tickets to this, a project called Sandbox has come to the rescue!

Wang and Chupa Talk on Morning Radio

February 11th, 2009

I arrived home quite later than usual yesterday morning and decided to tidy up my apartment a bit.  I used to listen to early morning radio shows after work but ever since I got myself a television set (and then later on a boyfriend who’s now an ex – in case you didn’t know).  There’s a lot of early morning radio “talk shows” nowadays and I actually love listening to them.  I don’t know why, but I was on a radio station surfing roll yesterday and what did I hear from almost all of them? Something to do with penises!  I’m not complaining!

89.9 Magic’s “Goodtimes with Mo” had a urologist for a guest and they were talking about, well… wangs!
90.7 Love Radio’s Chris Tsuper and Nicole Hiyala were talking about CHUPA being a non-offensive, non-bastos word in Zamboanga
93.1 Monster’s Chico and Delamar had some listeneres contributing “Abot Pusod” and the like to their top 10 list of (odd, or something) romantic movies

I didn’t get a chance to listen to 91.5 Energy FM’s Mr. Fu anymore since I fell asleep before his boardwork started. Meganon!

So yeah, penises and wangs and CHUPA in the morning are fun!

Rustom Padilla is now Bebe Gandanghari

January 21st, 2009

I know this is kind of late, but we just wanted to share with you (for those who haven’t heard of the news yet… I mean, where have you been hiding?) the new Rustom Padilla: Bebe Gandanghari or BEBE for short (Bebe also means Be all you want to Be!”). (watch the Startalk interview here)

We can only surmise that ever since he came out on the reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition, he has gone through so many things in his life – and we were all witnesses to some of them. One of them was when he surprised everyone at the Urian Awards last year when he entered the stage (to present an award) dressed in women’s clothes.

Recently, he came out on national television and announced that Rustom Padilla is now “dead” and he is now called Bebe Gandanghari. We knew this time was gonna come after he announced a few months ago that he did not need permission from anyone to wear women’s clothes. Also, he said in an interview in October of 2008 that the reason why he was dressed in women’s clothes was that he was doing a character study to prepare for his one-(wo)man show at the Music Museum this February.

So do you think Bebe Gandang Hari will stay for long or is this just a publicity stunt for his show? I don’t know. One thing I know is that he’s brave enough to face the consequences of his actions. Ganda mo ‘teh!

BratPack Contest Winner

November 19th, 2008

We recently posted a contest here sponsored by BratPack where the best story/experience about their backpacks wins a bag from BratPack.

Congratulations to Mutya Venturanza!  Here’s her winning story:

I graduated from the University of the Philippines Manila. During that four years of college, I only used 1 bag – my green backpack which accompanied me through thick and thin. It was given to me by mom as a birthday gift during my last year in high school. Knowing that I will soon be entering the university, my mom made sure I will be having a sturdy bag to carry all my stuff (which turned out to be just a notebook and my kikay kit since I seldom buy textbooks for myself back in college). At first I was turned off with the backpack given to me – imagine, its green! I would have preferred pink! But as time went by, my green backpack proved to be very useful. For one, I was not able to have it washed all those for years and it still looked the same green backpack I received during my birthday!

I was able to easily fit in my new university with my green backpack. After all, I am at the University of the Philippines where everyone uses no other bag but a backpack. Plus, the green color matched the University’s official colors!

My green backpack was my constant companion all those four years. I hiked » Read more: BratPack Contest Winner
