Bakla Ako, May Reklamo?

I’ve had my share of frugly ducklings stealing my photos from my guys4men account and using these as their own. It is a bit flattering but mostly annoying. Oh the repercussions of too much camwhoring and self-promotion over the Internet! And I’ve dealt with these people by sending emails to the administrators and having the fruglies’ accounts disabled. The frugly accounts have been disabled alright, but I’m sure that didn’t stop them from stealing more photos. Well for my part, at least I did something. I’m already used to having my photos stolen so I won’t be surprised if I see another profile with my photo on it.

Then I stumbled upon one profile. No he did not use any of my photos. I was fuming with anger as I started reading. The first line seemed familiar. How could it not be familiar when I was the one who wrote that line? I read through the rest of his profile and saw that he copied MY profile text – VERBATIM! The nerve of this guy. I just want to go to Davao now, hunt him down, point a gun to his head, bring him to the beach and command him to get a handful of sand and shove it up his own sorry ass!

I’m signed up to a lot of different social networking sites for gay men and I’m already used to a lot of fakers. I don’t know why some gay men use photos and/or names of other people on their social networking profiles. Some use face and body pics of other users, others use photos of celebrities.

Complete anonymity and protection of their “discreet” status may be some of the reasons. But there are some who just irk me so much I wanna put them in a sack and throw it onto Manila Bay. I understand that some people are just not too comfortable (like I) posting their mug shots online. And I understand this whole “discreet” thing. Been there, done that.

One of these networking sites that I’m a member of is guys4men. In the more than one year of membership with them, I’ve already seen numbers of profiles that make me laugh and irk me at the same time. I’ve had my share of people using my photos in their profiles. And I also found this one guy who copied my Personal Profile Essay – VERBATIM! Imagine that! Here are some of my current “favorites:”
