David Beckham Is Happy to be the Gayest Straight Man in Britain

November 11th, 2008

In the latest issue of GQ, David Beckham was asked how he feels about being labeled as the “gayest straight man in Britain.” The uber-cool and uber-hot international celebrity has this to say about the label:

“Yes, I like that. When someone said that about me, it made me laugh and I was quite proud of it. To have that kind of effect on so many different people around the world, I was honoured. When people talk to me about being a gay icon I think of it as a great honour.”

Now that’s what I call a true gay icon – even if he’s a straight guy! Love you Becks! And I personally think that Becks is not only the gayest straight man in Britain, but the whole world over!

Bakla Plays Wii at RedBox!

October 7th, 2008

Wii? Red Box? Yup, you read that right.  They have Wii at Red Box.

I went to Red Box last night thinking that it was another special “this time only” Wii parties. But I learned later on that I was wrong – the Wii party was not a “this tıme only” affair. Red Box is more of a karaoke/videoke place for me and many others out there. Well that will change soon as RedBox has already started offering Nintendo Wii as part of their long list of choices for leisure and recreation.

I love playing Wii, but I can’t afford it.  So I just play whenever I get the chance to (unless someone donates their old Wii to me, I will quit my day job and play Wii all day long. lol).  So when I found out that RedBox will start offering Wii, I was happy since I can now alternate between singing (which is my passion, but family and friends tag it as pasyon.) and playing Wii!  Just imagine playing Wii using a super humongous screen!   Oh dear!

There was also a Wii-themed costume contest » Read more: Bakla Plays Wii at RedBox!

Speedo’s Homoerotic Instructional Video

October 7th, 2008

I have always wondered if male swimmers (like Michael Phelps) who wear those tight one-piece, long swimsuits wore something else under.  I got my answer after watching this tutorial on how to wear Speedo’s LZR Racer.

Oh I also got more. Wait till the last minute or so and you’ll know what I mean. Enjoy!

Michael Phelps Sports Illustrated Cover – A Halter Top?

August 20th, 2008

Is it just me or this Sports Illustrated cover featuring Michael Phelps looks like Phelps is wearing a red halter top cum bikini top?

This photo of Michael Phelps is the cover for the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, photographed by Simon Bruty.  What is significant about this photo is that the styling and “accessorizing” are inspired by a photo taken 36 years ago: » Read more: Michael Phelps Sports Illustrated Cover – A Halter Top?

Michael Phelps is teh Hawtz!

Michael Phelps

I wanna get wet with Michael Phelps! This American swimmer currently being dubbed as the Greatest Olympian of All Time is all over me the Internet, newspapers, television, and practically everywhere! Did you notice though that he loves wearing his swimsuit so low you can almost taste him see his pubes — or the lack thereof?  If you haven’t, go check out this photo album from the Chicago Tribune!

Now excuse me while I whipe the drool off my mouth.

Bakla Conquers Mt Daguldol (Part 4)

April 16th, 2008

This post is the last entry in a series of entries about my hiking trip to Mt Daguldol. (Part 1 here Part 2 here part 3 here)

Just like Nina, I am blogging about this whole experience not just because of the free stuff that we got from Columbia. The better part of this hiking trip was the adventure itself and the people I went with! Great company, even without great equipment, always makes an experience so memorable and fun!

The morning on top of the mountain was pretty cold, but that didn’t stop me from wearing my linen pants, which I normally just wear on beach trips. And since I felt like I have achieved so much, I decided to claim the world:

Others went for “me” time:

When the morning fog finally cleared out, we headed to the summit (which was like 10 meters or so from our campsite:

After some much-deserved photos at the summit, we headed back to the campsite to pack-up. Before leaving the place, I wanted to have a jump shot of my self so I made several attempts:

Until I finally achieved what I wanted: » Read more: Bakla Conquers Mt Daguldol (Part 4)

Bakla Conquers Mt Daguldol (Part 1)

April 7th, 2008

A few weeks ago, my friends Tin, Will, and D invited me and the rest of our colleagues at work to a hiking/camping trip to Anawangin. The photos Tin took on her previous trip looked so amazing that I actually considered going with them. But after finding out that there was a possibility of not being able to take a shower or the absence of a real toilet to answer nature’s call for me, I declined. Another reason was that I did not have the right gear for outdoor adventures like that.

I’m Gay, I Saw, I Conquered!

And as luck had it, the gods from Columbia Sportswear must have heard me talking to myself about the lack of gear. A few weeks after the hiking trip I missed, I received an invite from Columbia Sportswear to join four other bloggers (Phoebe, Jayvee, Nina, and Ferdz) on a “leisure” hiking trip. I was a bit hesitant at first but Ernie convinced me into going. And that, my friends, turned out to be one of the best (if not the best yet) decisions that I have made in 2008!

The whole experience started with pulling out clothes from Columbia Sportswear’s Gateway Branch two days before the hiking trip. I was given the freedom to select items from the racks on my own, as long as they matched the general description on the checklist of “bare necessities” for the trip.

Dino de Leon, Brand Manager for Columbia Sportswear, was kind enough to help me out in selecting from their overwhelmingly beautiful, stylish and functional apparel and equipment. While doing the shopping, the goodlooking Dino (yes, he’s cute and has a girlfriend, lolz) made sure I chose items which were right for my body type and suitable for the hiking trip. This sure is one cool way to “test drive” their products!

Here are the items that I ended up with:

Columbia Sportswear Hogback Trail Tee Empire BlueColumbia Sportswear Omni-Dry Venture Convertible Pant

Columbia Sportswear Titanium Crag Mountain SoftshellColumbia Sportswear One Ton Cyberpack
