View My Desktop

October 17th, 2007

While we were on vacation in Davao, we got tagged for a meme about computer desktops.  We don’t normally respond to memes, but since we are on a Post-Vacation Depression mode for now (and possibly for the next few weeks), we’re posting a reply to a meme tag from Tess.

Here are the rules:

My Desktop Free View Instructions:

  1. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun.
  2. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of Icons, things like that.
  3. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.

Here’s what our desktop looks like:(click on photo to enlarge)

Okay, so I’m not gonna tag anyone in particular.  If you wanna show  your desktop to the rest of the world, well then, have fun! :)

The Elusive Mr. Right

September 29th, 2007

The Elusive Mr. Right

We all look for that special someone. That special someone who will love us for what we are and take care of us. Someone we can and will love, someone we will care for. Someone who will give us all the loving that we need and deserve.

Some of you may have already found him. But for me, and for many others out there, that person is still out there – Mr. Right is still out there. He’s waiting for us. We know this for sure because we know that everyone has a chance at romance , right?

What keeps us from finding our Mr. Right? Are we still hard put with getting over a break up? Are we too picky and choosy? Has he already come into our lives but ignored him?

Pray, tell me, why is Mr. Right so elusive?

His House

September 16th, 2007

It was only in the state of exhaustion that things finally dawned on him. He realized that over time, he has unconsciously built four walls around himself. There was a door but it was bolted. There were windows too, but they automatically closed at the slightest hint of an onlooker. The roof was flat and made of concrete.

A pity, for he has paid lip service to the world that he was ready. And now he asks himself if he really was ready. He does not know the answer. No matter how hard he tries, nothing comes to mind. Again, he was reminded that thinking will do him no good. Because he can’t even think.

The paint outside the walls are pretty. A magnificent facade, indeed. The glass windows are one-way mirrors. The perceivers from the outside world can only see themselves, not the one inside the house.

The doors to the house have been shut for a long time now. They once were open, but a long-forgotten storm has forced it shut. And they never opened again.

Looking outside through the one-way mirrors cum glass windows, he sees droves of onlookers. Admiration, Infatuation, even Love – all these he can see in their eyes. Many of those outside wanted to come in. Begged to come in.

He ignores them.

He looks around the walls he built around himself. He does not see beauty. The interior is empty. The walls are unpainted – exposing the piles of hollow blocks. Although lighting is insufficient, it was never dark inside.

He retreats into one corner of the room, in tears, secretly hoping that that someone will break in through those glass windows and paint the walls with him.

Where Do You Go From Here?

September 4th, 2007

No this is not another sad, self-loathing and sappy post. It’s been almost six months since we started all this kabaklaan here. We have always wondered where our readers go from here. Some people just get lost in this crazy world called the Internet and stumble upon this blog.

We don’t really analyze our statistics too much. Let’s rephrase that, we rarely analyze our stats – sometimes to the point of non-analysis, if there is such a thing. So today, we looked at our month-long (and a few days) stats of where our readers come from, how they get here, and where they go once they get too bored with all the kabaklaans here. So why just post stats for a month? It’s because we based our tedious cross-platform, cross-counters (google analytics, counterize, getclicky, mybloglog, blogcatalog, etc), cross-trackers analysis on baklaako.com – we didn’t include the stats from baklaako.myjournal.ph.

We won’t bore you with all the details and graphs and numbers. Instead, we present to you, the most visited websites and blogs from baklaako.com (most outbound clicks). Here are the TOP 12:

  1. KK Best Stories
  2. Ultimate Pinoy Hunks
  3. Binatang Pinoy
  4. Barako Stories
  5. Manila Gay Guy
  6. Misterhubs
  7. Dave Montero
  8. Bryanboy
  9. Bi.S.E.A.N.
  10. Corporate Closet
  11. Kuwentong Kalibugan
  12. Max Male Beauty

So there you have it. Among these top 12, what do you notice?

World Peace

September 2nd, 2007

Oh fart.

In eight days, this old fart will be a year older. He has not crossed out even a quarter of the list he made last year: 25 things to do before turning 25. Yup, you read it right, this Bakla is turning a quarter of a century old.

Aren’t we supposed to be happy when our birthdays come? Oddly enough, I’m not a wee bit excited about my birthday. It’s gonna be just another day. It probably is because I don’t wanna say I’m 25 years old.

There may be another hiatus in the following days, but you know what a hiatus means in this blog. Everytime we announce a hiatus, we post more and more entries! Hah!

As for my birthday wish, I haven’t really given it a thought, so I’m resorting to…

I Heart Yilmaz!

June 14th, 2007

Lifted from AJ’s Livejournal

Join the I Love Yilmaz Movement!

Haaay, I think I wanna get married to Yilmaz. Kung ayaw ni Ropa, ako na lang dong no!

Sa labanang ito, okay lang na bogbogin ako ni Yilmaz. Mas maganda naman ako kay Ropa. But seriously, IMHO, Yilmaz is telling the truth. He is “scare to God!

I’ve been stuck at home over the weekend watching Startalk, The Buzz and Showbiz Central. I already made up my mind that Ropa is not telling teh truth, the whole truth and nothing but, right after I’ve seen her interview on Startalk with Butch Francisco. Plus this article on Dolly Anne’s Column.

And besides, this is “This is not party time. This is real life.”
