The Un-Gay Pill

June 30th, 2009 by AJ 5 comments »

Davey-Wavey posted this question over at the Rainbow Bloggers Blog:

If you could take a pill that would turn you straight, would you take it?

If you know me well (or not even that well), you would know my answer to this preposterous question.

Before I go into detail and expound my answer, let me pose these questions: “Aren’t pills taken to alleviate pain or to cure diseases? If so, does that mean being gay is a disease?”  I do not believe so. Now that that’s clear, let me elaborate on my answer to this hypothetical question.

Had I been asked this say, 10 or 15 years ago, I would have considered taking the pill – if something of the sort actually existed.  This is only me though.  We have to take into consideration other gay men out there, I mean “in” there, who may be thinking of taking the pill.  I guess I am one of the lucky ones who have a solid support group of friends and family.  Also, the society I am living in makes it a lot easier for me to say that I would never un-gay myself.

If my environment and the circumstances around it were different, would I take the pill and “un-gay” myself? I wouldn’t. You see I wouldn’t be who I am as a person now had I been heterosexual.  My answer has nothing to do with love and relationships.  It may have something to do with cocks though. Seriously, I would never trade being gay for being straight.  I would not have it any other way. I love the Gay Way! I wouldn’t be as competitive a person as I am now if I were straight.  I wouldn’t also be too much of a hard worker.  As a young boy, I had this strange feeling that I had to work so hard to prove my worth.  In my teens, I felt the pressure of fitting in.  I wanted to be “one of the boys” and did whatever I could so people would not notice my sexual inclinations and tendencies. I felt like I had to prove to the world that in spite of and despite my sexuality, I was someone and I will be someone.

While I cannot always say that my sexuality defines who I am as a person, I can say that my being gay has played a big part in broadening my horizon and in my blossoming into a wonderful young man. After all, being gay has helped hone me to become the fabulous, witty and smart person that I am right now. Charot.

And duh, if I took that pill, this blog would not have existed. Bakla ako and forever I will be! May reklamo?

What about you? Would you take that pill?

Television is Dead! Flippish is Here!

June 30th, 2009 by AJ No comments »

“Television is Dead” – this is what the people behind Flippish.com believe. With the now-easy availability of the Internet and increasing broadband speeds being offered, more people spend more time online nowadays, online entertainment is proving that it is indeed the wave of the future.

FLIPPISH is a play on the word Filipino.  In the US and other countries, some Pinoys are called Flips. The word FLIPPISH could also mean something that is odd, crazy or weird.

Flippish.com is spearheaded by Chris Tan, the co-founder and Managing Director of Ideal Minds (yes, the makers of JM Rodriguez’s On Air!) and Kring Elenzano, my kabaklaan and blogger friend (who also happens to be the Creative Director of Ideal Minds and Flippish.com. Flippish.com is the first Pinoy online video channel that produces original online shows that are of broadcast quality.  The people behind Flippish.com believe that it is about time that we Filipinos take on the challenge of coming up with online entertainment that is of international standards.

Flippish will tickle your funny bone (and sometimes give you a boner? lol); get you up to speed on the latest hotspots and goings-on around and outside the metro (check out their coverage of iBlog5 – when I pretty much hogged all of the running time); stimulate your brain cells with thought-provoking reality shows; and most importantly, entertain you until it becomes an essential part of your daily Internet habit!

Flippish.com will finalle be officially launched on July 2, 2009 at Fiamma (Jupiter St., Makati). For more information about the launch party (and yeah, the website and its shows), check out http://www.flippish.com

In Search of Daniel Radcliffe’s Cock

June 30th, 2009 by AJ 2 comments »

Many people have been scouring online for naked photos of young actor Daniel Radcliffe.  Radcliffe, who shot to fame by playing the title character in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter, also stars in Equus – a story about a boy who blinds six horses and how a psychiatrist explores the reasons for such behavior. Equus has recently been brought to Broadway where Radcliffe reprised his role.

You can easily find those Naked Daniel Radcliffe Photos, but this photo below, showing Daniel Radcliffe and his “cock” is one of my favorites!  Enjoy!

Day of Silence at UP Diliman Today

June 30th, 2009 by AJ No comments »
The UP Diliman campus will be a little quieter today, June 30, as Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender (LGBTs) Students and their allies at the University of the Philippines in Diliman will Launch “Day Of Silence” after the UP Pride March Quezon City.

The “Day of Silence” will commence after the UP Pride March around the campus.  The march in the University of the Philippines in Diliman is to protest the discrimination, harassment and abuse  – in effect the silencing – faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and their allies in schools.

The Day of Silence, a project originally started by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) of America, will be adapted and will be held during school hours at UP Diliman. Over a hundred participants will be silent on June 30, 2009, wearing stickers and passing out statements that partly read: “Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a youth movement protesting the harassment, prejudice, and  discrimination faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies in schools.

“The Day of Silence,” according to local organizer and UP Student Regent Charisse Bernadine Bañez, “is especially relevant to UP because “in Diliman, students are faced with organizational nightmares of the proposed ‘2009 Code of Student  Conduct’ not to mention the dictatorial and fascist tendencies of the Gloria Arroyo Administration with the passage of Con-Ass in the lower-house” Marcel Punongbayan of ProGAY UP Diliman hopes that the event will work towards ending some of the silence and hatred students face.

Present statistics found that more than 4 out of 5 LGBT students report verbal, sexual or physical harassment at school and 29% report missing at least a day of school in the past month out of fear for their personal safety. The Day of Silence is one way students and their allies are making anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and name-calling unacceptable in Philippine schools. About the Day of Silence The Day of Silence, a project of the General Assemble of Gender Advocates (GAGA), University of the Philippines Diliman Student Council –Gender Committee, Office of the Student Regent, STAND UP, GABRIELA UP-Diliman, and ProGAY & LesboND UP Diliman, is a campus wide, student-led event during which hundreds of college students take action to bring awareness to the bullying, name-calling, and harassment of lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender and ally (LGBTA) youth.

Run For Home: The Globe-Ayala Land City Run for Habitat for Humanity

June 29th, 2009 by AJ 3 comments »

You know how to run, right? If you do, then here is your chance do it and do it with a cause!

Everyone is invited to join the Run For Home: Globe-Ayala Land City Run for Habitat for Humanity.  It is the first ever running event in the country that will feature the use of the disposable electronic timing chips to track running time.

The run is slated on July 19, 2009 (Sunday) at 5:00 AM at the Bonifacio Global City.  There will be 3-kilometer, 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer and 21-kilometer runs. So whoever you are and whatever your running capability is, there is a run just right for you (I’m joining the 3-km run.)! The route cover areas in the Bonifacio Global City to the Makati Central Business District.

Aside from supporting the Habitat for Humanity to benefit the Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig Project, this run is made more interesting by the use of the disposable electronic timing chips:

Globe brings the disposable electronic timing chips to the Philippines to track the running time of participants to the RUN FOR HOME – a first for a running event in the country. The disposable electronic timing chips are miniature transponders in a specially designed plastic housing. These are used in popular international marathons where the chip is attached to a runner’s shoelace and in triathlons where it is placed as an ankle bracelet.

To register and find out more about this event, simply visit the Run For Home site at http://ww.globe.com.ph/runforhome  or visit participating Globe Business Centers and Fitness First branches in Metro Manila.

Let’s Boom Boom Pow!

June 14th, 2009 by AJ 1 comment »

What better way to spend your lazy Sunday afternoon than dancing to the beat of Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas.  And what better way to do it than with three hot and cute teen boys! (Semi-NSFW)

So who do you think is the hottest among the three? Arin (left boy), Andrew (middle boy) or Fex (right boy)?
