Freddie Stroma: Harry Potter 6’s Cormac McLaggen

If you’ve already seen the latest installment of the movie adaptation of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter Series, then I’m pretty sure you noticed that hot young man playing Cormac McLaggen.  While the character is a little forgettable in the books, the actor playing him in Harry Potter 6: The Half-Blood Prince isn’t.  At least for me.

Immediately after watching the film on iMax (SM North Edsa) with blogger and Plurk friends, I Googled Cormac McLaggen and found out that the oh-so hot actor playing the character is Freddie Stroma.

Freddie Stroma is a 21-year old British actor. This is where I stop telling you more about him.  Google had me at British. (If you want to know more about this hot man, go to the Freddie Stoma Online fansite).

You know what happens when a relatively unknown gets cast in such a high profile movie as Harry Potter?  All his or previous works – be it modeling, TV appearances, film cameos, theater performances, etc. – are dug up and posted online.  And lucky for me (or for us all), there are HOT HOT HOT footages and photos of Freddie Stroma!

Acne Underwear has this footage of a guy who allegedly is Freddie Stroma (but he denies it is him) and how good he is at gymnastic rings. See how flexible he is!  But wait there’s more!  There’s something at the end of the video for us! :) Is this guy really Freddie Stroma naked?

Oh dear.  I think I have a new British crush. Then again, I’m on the Ed Westwick fans club. lol

Guys4men+PlanetRomeo: Are You Happy About It?

Guys4men has finally merged with PlanetRomeo and there are mixed reactions from the users of what used to be guys4men. I have, however, seen more dissonance than appreciation of this change. And I can relate to many of those who think that selling merging guys4men with PlanetRomeo was a bad idea. Long before this merger, I already had accounts with both g4m and planetromeo/gayromeo so I’m already used to the interfaces and platforms of both networks. Honestly though, I still prefer the old guys4men interface.

Prior to the merge, Guys4men was the premier social networking site for gay men in the Philippines. But now, I’m not sure if the users are all too happy about Planetromeo.

Boyzone First Boyband to Feature Gay Couple in Video

You read that right!  Boyzone is the first ever boyband to have a gay couple in their video. (But this is not the first video in history to show a homosexual couple kissing).

One of its members, Stephen Gately (who cam out in 1999) is paired with a male actor while the other members are paired with females. in their latest video for the single “Better”.

The Boyzone boys (oh well, they’re grown men now) originally wanted their own partners to appear opposite them in the video but none of the other halves agreed. They eventually decided to just have actors play opposite each member. It is interesting to see that such openness and hopefully acceptance, is being displayed in a video of a group who once rocked (and still do) people’s socks off. The decision to put a gay couple in the video was the whole band’s and the other members pushed Gately and said that he had to do this and that it would be fantastic.

And indeed it is! The video is quite heartwarming and the song actually made me cry a tear or two. Sob. Sob.

Missed out on some of the gay films this year?  Well fret not for the UP Film Institute is holding a series of special screenings this semestral break!

Fresh from a slew of international prizes and added festival engagement, Brillante Mendoza’s Serbis continues its maximum extensive run.

A countdown-to-Halloween special billed “Beatitudes for the Dead” hallmarks Aloy Adlawan’s Signos to alternate with Neal Buboy Tan’s Ataul for Rent.

Taking turns for a special full run are such prime titles as Paupahan, Vhagetz; Tiltil; Sun Kissed, Gay Sex in the 70s; Project X; Eskandalo.

Forming a special of its own is a selection of Jowee Morel full-length features, namely, Ec2luv (2005); Mga Paru-parong Rosas (2006); When a Gay Man Loves (2007); Latak (2008) and Moving Dreams (2008).

The last join the rest of the premiering productions within the given screening period: Jigz Recto’s Tutok; Joel Lamangan’s Walang Kawala; Roni Bertubin’s Kurap.

People Magazine: Clay Aiken is GAY!

It’s all over the Internet now!  Clay Aiken is rumored to have come out as gay (finally!) via People Magazine’s latest issue set for release in the United States on Wednesday (US Time).

In the (not-yet-confirmed-to-be-true-and-might-be-a-hoax) cover of the upcoming issue of People, the American Idol alumnus and his newborn son Parker Foster Aiken are seen on the cover with a banner story of Aiken saying: “Yes, I’m gay.”

If this were true, then we only have this to say: Yes, we know.  We always have.

Clay Aiken has long been rumored to be gay but he has remained mum about his sexuality. Rumors of him soliciting gay sex online have also been around for a while now.

So is Clay Aiken gay and has he finally come out of the closet? We’ll find out in a few hours!

The Philippine Blog Awards final list of nominees for the Best Blog – Videocast/Podcast has been released and the FabCasters is one of those nominated!

The FabCasts, via the blog of McVie, our creative director, arranger, songwriter, producer, copywriter, master chenelyn forte-er, has been recognized as among the best video/podcasts in the Philippine Blogosphere! The gay blogging community finally has a representation in the community! Congrats to Migs, McVie, Gibbs, Tony, and CC (and myself of course!)!

Oh and yes, more representation this year as Gibbs Cadiz’s blog is also nominated for Best Blog in the Culture & Arts category.
